NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS: On the set of Sam's Zookeeper Challenge, you meet a lot of people whose job it is to care for animals. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

SAM PELTZ: When I was a kid, my dream was to be just like Jane Goodall or Steve Irwin. I thought of being a veterinarian, a zoologist, or a zookeeper, but later learned I loved producing and trying to inspire people to be the best stewards to the environment they can be.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS: In these shows, you take on challenges like feeding and training animals. Tell us your favorite moment.

SAM PELTZ: This might sound weird, but I loved stuffing vitamins into the smelt to feed the penguins! Although, everything was amazing.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS: Which animal would you most like to meet, and why?

SAM PELTZ: I’d most like to meet a whale because cetaceans are some of my favorite animals.
