Diamond is April's Birthstone

Diamonds develop deep in the ground under great pressure. The gems are the crystalline form of carbon. (Another form of carbon is graphite, the lead in your pencil.) Diamonds are the hardest naturally occuring substance on Earth.

Old-School Myths

People associated the sparkle of diamonds with romance, mystery, power, greed, and magic. Many once believed that they were made by bolts of lightning.
