A sneaky ape surprises a human volunteer in Rochester, New York.
Lowell the orangutan must have appreciated getting his cage cleaned! The 300-pound ape sneaked out of a holding pen at the Seneca Park Zoo and surprised the volunteer tidying up his adjoining cage with a gentle hug.
GREAT APE ESCAPE
Wrapping his long arms around the volunteer’s legs, Lowell then carried his new friend around for about five minutes while the volunteer patted his head. Soon Lowell was ready to get back inside his cage. “I asked him if he was a good boy, and he nodded,” says zoo vet Jeff Wyatt. We’re just glad Lowell didn’t try to kiss anyone!
