Leaping Lemurs

Leap along with these lucky lemurs at the Duke Lemur Center!

Where else can you find lemurs outside of Madagascar? Look no further than North Carolina! The state is home to the Duke Lemur Center, which boasts the world's largest and most diverse collection of lemurs outside of their native African country.

Lemurs may be one of the cutest animals on Earth, but sadly they're also the most endangered. Threatened by illegal logging of their native tropical forest habitat, 90 out of the 101 species of lemur are at risk of extinction. The lemur center studies and breeds lemurs to help ensure their survival.
