YOU WILL NEED
• 8 sheets of equal-size tissue paper (Bigger tissue paper will make bigger pom-poms.)
• 1 craft pipe cleaner
• String (optional)
PLANET PROTECTOR TIP!
Instead of releasing a balloon to make a wish, blow out candles.
Make these pom-pom puffs!
Stack 8 sheets of tissue paper together. (You can use the same color or mix it up.)
Gather the paper.
Fold the tissue paper back and forth in 1-inch sections like an accordion. Press each fold firmly.
Fold the paper.
Wrap the pipe cleaner around the center of the folded tissue-paper stack, then twist the pipe cleaner to secure it.
Twist the pipe cleaner around the stack.
Trim the pipe cleaner with scissors and then wrap the end of the pipe cleaner around itself so the wire doesn’t poke out.
Secure the pipe cleaner.
Cut both ends of the tissue paper stack into rounded, pointed, or frilly shapes.
Cut the ends.
Flip the tissue-paper stack on its side.
Flip the stack.
Separate each layer of paper one at a time.
Separate the layers.
Pull the layers up and toward the center. To hang your pom-pom, tie a piece of string to the center of the pipe cleaner.
Pull the layers toward the center.
