Parvaz Magazine Covers

    Parvaz, which launched in Afghanistan in August 2002, is the first full-color magazine for Dari- and Pashto-speaking girls and boys ages seven through 14. The magazine features artwork and photographs to encourage creativity and freedom of expression. The Farsi word for "flight," Parvaz is all about seeing things differently and letting imaginations fly.

    This March/April 2003 issue is about spring and its celebration (Nowruz) in different countries like Iran.

    This issue focuses on philosophy and psychology, explaining how to concentrate and become active thinkers.

    This issue is mainly about politics. It explains how Afghanistan is governed and presents young people’s role in politics in different places of the world through experiences such as the EYP (European Young Parliament).

    This special issue aims at increasing children's awareness on topics such as education, child labor, and child exploitation. It also introduces basic human rights, like the freedom of speech and the right to have an adequate living.
