Nat Geo Explorer: Emma Stokes

Emma Stokes is a conservationist and wildlife researcher who works to protect the endangered lowland gorilla and the Asian tiger. Stokes made an astonishing discovery of 125,000 lowland gorillas living in a partly unexplored region of Congo, leading the government to partially protect the area. She is part of the Tigers Forever project, an effort to increase the tiger population in nine key areas of Asia by 50 percent in just ten years.
