Sports Day!

Photo: Girl sittingEvery year we all look forward to SPORTS DAY!!!  All the grades from one to five participate in sports day. It is so exciting and loads of fun.

All the grades get put into teams by the sports teachers however each team are in the same grade.

This year I was in the white team. I had great and athletic people in my team and best of  all some of my friends.

Many parents were going to be there and me and the girls of grade 4 and 5 were going to be preforming at the beginning of the sports day. I was leading the dance, my sports teacher had put me in the front with two other girls( Tina and Tiffany) we were all nervous but  performed the best dance ever. (Watch the dance!)

On the day of sports day we didn't have any lessons since we were going to be down the field all day so we went down with our teachers got into our positions to start the games. We first were against the yellow team. The game was to hold heavy plastic pipes together and pour the water through the first one to the last one and into the bucket it was a lot of hard work, because if you let go of the the pipes the water can fall out and become less.

Photo: Girls with heavy water pipesIn the end we had more water in our bucket and we won!!!!!! Soaking wet with lakes in our shoes, we went on to the next game determined to win again.

The second game was called the caterpillar game where we had to walk in a big piece of fabric. It was fun but kind of hard, the gray team and us tied in that game. Next came another exciting game that looked like fun it was another water game!!!! We had to pass on soaked sponges, and the last person in the line would have to squeeze it out to collect as much water in a bucket. I was passing as fast as I could and at the same time trying not to let lots of water drop from the sponge so we can fill the bucket with more water than the other team (yellow team again) and guess what in the end we DID!!! We won another game!!!! It was an amazing feeling to have won every game till now.

There were many nice games however I am sharing the ones I had enjoyed most, like the ball game. We all teamed up after a little break of watching the mothers do a race we all teamed up and listened to the instructions of the next game. We were told that we have to each take a hockey stick and try to carry the giant bouncy ball all together, this game was definitely all team work--plain teamwork simply the was the only way we could win if we all worked together. We weren't sure if we won this game because the fourth graders that were playing against us were saying that they won and the coach was saying that we won.

After all the exciting games and entertainment we all gathered to celebrate the day with ice cream.

I hope you enjoyed my blog and I hope you have a great sports day just like me.

I really envy your childhood, from your flogs I can see you do have a colourful primary school life. I'm a Chinese.Compared to your school life, our life is so dull tedious and monotonous due to mountains of homeworks to do and mom's naging on our study. Anyway, wish you happy everyday!开开心心每一天

I might make a blog. Here in Paris we sometimes to Field Day. I'm in Europe so yeah I really don't do this. P.S. I can speak Engilish and French.

I have Field Day once in a while here in Paris. Its a kinda the same as you have it Jordan. So where I live in Europe its a sometime rule for Field Day. Our Field day also goes by age Im 9 so I have to go to the 9year old group and do those things.

You have a good sports day. In mine, the guys just run around the field with torches like in the olimpics and we don't get to do anything.

hey I saw your video its really great. I would also like to learn dance from you and you can lean Bharatnatyam from me. Bharatnatyam is a Indian form of Dance. I am learning it from a reputed institue here. I have also been to Copenhagen in Denmark and stayed there for 3 years with my mom and dad and I was studying in Rygaards International School. Now, I am in India and waiting for my dad's next overseas assignment.

At my school Sycamore Creek we have field day. It's so fun! My faves are Volleyball, Jumprope, and Big Blue. Big Blue is when you get a Big Blue ball and do what the Coach (Phys Ed Teacher) says to do. I love the 100 yard dash. It's when you run as fast as you can 100 yards. It's so much fun!!!!

At my school we have that, but it is called Field Day. But what do you do at Sports Day? Your Friend, Adimae:]
