As you may have heard March 28 was Earth Hour. Many people around the world were voting to reduce global warming; and to vote you had to turn your lights off at 8:30 PM till 9:30 PM. It happened last Saturday. This was the first year I did it because it was the first time Jordan did it!!I told all my friends to do it and told them they have to vote to save our only Earth. And many of them did. On the night of voting I was pretty excited to light up all the candles and get ready. So my family and I began lighting the candles and getting ready. It was fun. After getting ready we watched the clock and turned the lights off for one whole hour.
The biggest streets in Jordan were going to have
the lights switched off. One of them is called the Rainbow Street.
Beside Rainbow Street there's a cafe called the Wild Jordan Café and
there was going to be a candlelit dinner and a candlelit walk on the
streets: but I couldn't make it. It sounded like fun but I didn't go.It was fun sitting in my bedroom in the dark hoping that all my friends were doing the same and eager to know how many people voted by looking at the paper the next day, but I felt it go really slowly.
The
next morning I asked my mom how many votes there were but it said
nothing yet in the paper. When I went to school I asked my friends if
they voted some of them did and some totally forgot!! I later found
out that some of the world's most important monuments had the lights
turned out, like the Sydney Opera House, in Australia, and Big Ben in
London.
I hope you voted and I hope you did try and save our planet. Let me know if you did!

Dear Ayat,
I put the lights out and didn't turn them on for the whole day! Candles all day, no light! I really loved it, and want to do it again.
I did it a LONG time ago though, at least a couple of months.
