A few weeks ago something exciting happened to me. I put on braces! It all started when I went for a check up at the dentist. He told me that he is going to measure my mouth. I was a bit confused why would he want to measure my mouth? So I asked him why? And he said that I need braces!!!!! And, that when he makes sure of the results I would have to come back and put them on. I was excited and nervous at the same time--my friend Yasmine has braces and I wanted to show my friends mine!
After a couple of days I went to the dentist with my father. I was ready to put on braces. I went into the clinic lay on the chair and opened my mouth. I needed braces on my upper teeth and lower teeth. Each one needed one hour, but I am lucky because I was going to put on the top first, get used to it, then come back and do the bottom part. I got a little bored waiting and waiting just for the top part to finish, and finally it was over. I went home in pain. I couldn't really eat, but I was OK.

On Monday at school (two days after getting my top braces) my friend
offered me some candy. I was very silly because I took the candy, bit it
and.......BROKE MY BRACES!!!
I went down to the school nurse to see if she could do anything, but she couldn't so I knew that I had to pay another visit to the dentist.
The dentist managed to fix them for me and I was relieved. And then it was time to put the lower braces on so I went to the dentist. After I finished putting them on I was fine, but the pain started when I woke up the next morning with the worst pain in my teeth that I had never felt before.
The pain got less every day, and finally there was no pain at all. A few days later when I was in a photo shop with my mom, to get some pictures printed for my blog, I sat down on a chair, bored out of my brains, forgot about my braces and started to bite my teeth together. I heard something go click. I felt something loose and realized that ........ I ...BROKE MY BRACES! And I said to myself that I have to pay another visit to the dentist!
Here is some advice when you have braces you gotta be careful!

You are right. I've put my braces with 48 years old. It was terrible for me.

i think braces are cool [: i went to my orthidontist today for the first time and they said i have a bad overbite so i need to get top braces on october 11th then the bottoms a few months later. im afraid if it will likee look weird with just one set of braces lol. i hope mine dont break!! knowing me they will /: i heard its painful. im 13 now and im going to have them till my sophmore year and im in 8th now. im kinda excited cus they look rly cool on people. i hope i suit them<333

Man! you are so luckey! you WANTED to have braces! i just got mine and they stink sooooooo hugley. whenever i chew, the sharp metal edges cut my mouth. i have to put wax on them so it does not hurt as much. also, i can not eat cus it hurts to chew, AND, the pressure from the food. on top of it all, i have gone from one of the most popular kids in my class to the dorkiest. I HOPE MINE BREAK!

When I got my braces I had to get 4 of my teeth pulled! The good thing is that I only have to wear mine for a year.
