My Book, Stardust

HI. It is Ayat! I am back! And guess what? I just wrote a book!

Photo: Ayat and her book, StardustOur English teacher in school told us that we are assigned to write our own imaginary novel about an endangered animal. My friends and I got very excited so we went up to the computer lab and started researching different animals on National Geographic.

Suraya chose to write about a sloth, I couldn't make up my mind between a dart frog or beluga whale. In the end I didn't pick any of them I decided to pick the sand cat and name him Stardust. It is similar to a normal cat however sandy colored with wide spaced ears and sharp claws.

Photo: Ayat poses with her bookI started writing and couldn't stop--ideas were popping in my head out of nowhere. My story was about a sand cat that is an orphan and is bullied. He overhears the matron talking to the Racos, a sand cat couple who would like to adopt him, saying that his parents death was a mystery and that they could still be alive!! All my friends had made great covers and amazing stories and I was way behind because I was away from school in Canada. (I will tell you all in my next blog.)

After I was done writing my story, I started on the cover page. It had a drawing of a sand cats face and the word Stardust in top with a tiny paw print in the corner. I couldn't figure out how to do my cover page so I asked my mother's friend Andrea to help me because she is a designer and is very creative. She helped me with the cover page and I typed and colored little sand cat faces. It was great!

I handed it in to my teacher and she liked it. I was very proud to know that I had written it and that it was mine. I hope that I will do another awesome book just like the book, Stardust!

Hello,
My name is Isabelle, and I am writing my own book as well. It is a teen book.
It's about a wolf pup who witnesses the death of her pack (not graphic)and goes on the quest for the purpose of life. She makes it close to her goal, but...I shouldn't tell you it all. I am also starting what I call the Goodheart trilogy. It will consist of four books about dogs whose fates are intertwined. The first book is Faithful, while I haven't figured out the rest.
