My Braces

A few weeks ago something exciting happened to me. I put on braces! It all started when I went for a check up at the dentist. He told me that he is going to measure my mouth. I was a bit confused why would he want to measure my mouth? So I asked him why? And he said that I need braces!!!!! And, that when he makes sure of the results I would  have to come back and put them on. I was excited and nervous at the same time--my friend Yasmine has braces and I wanted to show my friends mine!

After a couple of days I went to the dentist with my father. I was ready to put on braces. I went into the clinic lay on the chair and opened my mouth. I needed braces on my upper teeth and lower teeth. Each one needed one hour, but I am lucky because I was going to put on the top first, get used to it, then come back and do the bottom part. I got a little bored waiting and waiting just for the top part to finish, and finally it was over. I went home in pain. I couldn't really eat, but I was OK.

Jordanian Folk Night

In my blog about school I mentioned that in our school we put on a great show every year called the Jordanian Folk Night! It is called the Jordanian Folk Night because we sing Jordanian songs and dance the dabka and the guests are entertained by a special guest. All the music played throughout the entire show is performed by our Grade 5 band, and they are incredible.

My Book, Stardust

HI. It is Ayat! I am back! And guess what? I just wrote a book!

Photo: Ayat and her book, StardustOur English teacher in school told us that we are assigned to write our own imaginary novel about an endangered animal. My friends and I got very excited so we went up to the computer lab and started researching different animals on National Geographic.

Suraya chose to write about a sloth, I couldn't make up my mind between a dart frog or beluga whale. In the end I didn't pick any of them I decided to pick the sand cat and name him Stardust. It is similar to a normal cat however sandy colored with wide spaced ears and sharp claws.
