All My Chores!

I have a lot of chores that I do everyday and some chores that I do every few days. We have a small house so I share a bed with my mom. In the morning, I have to make the bed before I go to school.

Photo: Keli washing dishesI help wash the dishes in the pila, which is where we wash dishes and do our laundry. It is outside of our house.

Sunday is usually wash day in Guatemala, but we do a little bit of laundry every day so we don't have to do laundry all Sunday. I help my mom wash our clothes in the pila. But I only wash the small laundry items. Mom washes the larger things like sheets and blankets. We hang everything to dry.
Here I am helping my mom while she is cooking. We will put the cooked tortillas in this basket. I also help prepare food. And I help sweep and mop the floors!

Hi, Keli. This is Elizabeth. Your blog is great!!!! It is really interesting. This doesn't have anything to do with your chores, but do you own a set of Worry Dolls? I learned about them in Spanish last year and I remembered that they were from Guatemala.

Can't wait for your next blog.

Elizabeth

Hi Keli. I am a 13 year old girl(nearly 14) and I love your blog! I am not allowed to help my mum in the kitchen because it is too small! I do have to help my mum fold cloths and put them away though. I really can't wait to read your next blog so PLEASE keep blogging!

Hi Keli -

I am from Guatemala too and now live in the US. I think it's cool how you can memorize all those numbers in Mam. Where I was born they speak Quechi. I like how you made the pattern in your huipil. I like to go birdwatching - do you ever look at birds? Do you see pretty birds there or even a quetzal! I like your hair -it's just like mine except longer! My Mayan name means turtle!

I can't wait to read more!

Do you speak a little Spanish? How many chores do you do every day? How do you feel about Guatemala? Is it your favorite country?. Have you ever visited the United States? What kinds of animals are there in Guatelmala? Do you have a lot of fun there? I really enjoyed the video about you and how you weave. It looks very difficult to me. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

hello, your blog is so cool. I learned alot about your life... love your weaving and that you wash dishes outside... I live in new york city and I have a friend from Guatemala. Her name is Palova...
