Way to go jumpers! With your help, National Geographic Kids has broken the Guinness World Record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period! Between 3 p.m. on October 11 and 3 p.m. on October 12, 300,265 jumpers all over the world took part in the event--far surpassing the existing record of 20,425! A big thank you to everyone around the world who jumped for one minute during our global attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most people doing jumping jacks!

Guinness will take our final tally and make the determination on whether we broke the record or not. This could take several months.

In the meantime, become a member of NG Kids My Shot and upload photos of jumping jacks and tag them lets jump and you can receive the Jumping Jack badge.

Keep jumping on your own! It's a great way to exercise your whole body. If you do jumping jacks for one minute each day and then add a few minutes each day, you'll be able run faster, jump higher, and hike farther.

It's not too late to join the jump! You have until 3 p.m. ET today to help NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS and kids around the world break the Guinness World Record for the most people doing jumping jacks. All you have to do is one minute of jumping jacks!

We need more than 20,000 people to do jumping jacks to break the record. So get your friends, sports teams, afterschool groups--even your entire school--to participate!

Read the rules and download the forms so your jumping jacks will count. Or find a location near you and join a group that is jumping today.
