Another thing we did while we were in Arenal was go on a white water rafting trip. When we weren't going through the big rapids, we would look for wildlife along the river. We saw two sloths just hanging out in the trees (that's pretty much all they do). We got soaking wet and had a great time.
Our last stop in Costa Rica was the Osa Peninsula, where we stayed with our friend Greg's friend Andy. We were staying at the edge of the tropical rainforest, where it met the beach. There was a lot of wildlife to see there and on our first morning, we woke up to the news that they had found an anteater hidden inside some tree roots digging up ants. This was our first time seeing an anteater in the wild and it was really cool.
While we were in Osa we went on a hike with Andy who brought us to a 400 year old strangler fig tree. There he attached us to a harness and we climbed 60 feet up this huge tree. When we got to the top, we jumped down and swung from a rope like Tarzan. We also learned how to rappel down a rock wall. Once we were comfortable doing it, we got attached to a harness again and scaled a 100' wall. It was really exciting to do all these activities where we were flying through the air.
That's all for this blog!
