Wild Zimbabwe

Hello everyone. Thanks for reading my blog. This week we went to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe with our friends who joined us in South Africa. Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and it is not one big waterfall, but a series of big waterfalls. It's so big that when the water hits the bottom, the mist sprays back up and you get really wet.

We also saw a croc in the water, which was cool. It was so scenic on the river. We all had a blast and it was fun getting wet.

Later that day we went to dinner at this really fun restaurant called The Boma. A boma is a special type of African structure used for eating and special occasions. This one was really cool and decorated with African masks and artwork. They had traditional African entertainment there, like drummers and dancers, and we got to play along on our own drums. We all got our faces painted too.

My friends and I even got our fortunes told by a traditional African fortune teller. He did this by throwing bones, rocks and empty nut shells on the ground. Everyone was happy because we all had good fortunes.

Before our friends left to go back home, we had another chance to go on the Zambezi River. We stayed at this place called Imbabala Lodge for our last night in Zimbabwe and we loved it there. We had the whole lodge to ourselves and they had a great big lawn for us to play on. They took us out on a big pontoon boat for a sunset cruise and this time we saw not just one crocodile, but lots of them. We also saw some African Fish Eagles, which look like our Bald Eagles, but lighter brown. We even saw hippos right in front of the sunset. That made for a good picture.

It made me so happy that I had friends to play with for the past two weeks. Tyler's great, but it was really nice having other kids with me. We had such a great time with our friends Owen, Tess, Parker and Hailey in South Africa and Zimbabwe. We wish they could have stayed and come to Botswana, which is where we go next.

See all you good people next time!

You guys have no idea how lucky you are. You keep talking about all these places I've dreamed of going my whole life, like Victoria Falls and the Artic Circle. The difference is that I don't know if I'll ever get to see them. I want to see the whole world and more, and of course I will work to see it, but I'm always scared that I won't be able too.
