Cricket, 'Roos, Beaches and Caves ... Aussie has it all!

Hello mates, I'm still in Australia and having a great time. Since my last blog, we have been to a few new places, including Sydney.

Here's a pic of me and the Opera House in Sydney:

As you might know, Sydney has the best fireworks in the world for New Year's and we were lucky enough to be there! On New Year's Eve we went to our grandparent's friend's apartment. They had a fantastic view of the city and a great apartment to watch the fireworks from. I loved it. When it was finally midnight, the fireworks went off and it was well worth staying awake for. They are the best in the world!

I loved it there because they had a huge trampoline to play on and we all hung out and just had fun and be kids. There was fishing, which I really like to do. I caught lots of rainbow trout (unlike Tyler, I had a rod, which was a lot easier to fish with) and we ate them for dinner. At Bilpin Springs we also played lots of cricket.

Cricket is a really popular sport here in Australia and while we were there, we went to a cricket match. At the cricket game we sat next to a nice man who explained the rules of the game to us. I liked the game so much that we got our own cricket set that we played with on the beach. We've been to a lot of beaches here in Australia so we've gotten to play a lot of cricket, which has been really fun.

Our last stop in Australia was an amazing place called Margaret River, a place with caves and wild kangaroos, in addition to more great beaches. We went to two caves and we saw lots of 'roos every day at dusk. The first cave we went to was called Jewel Cave, which was covered in stalactites and stalagmites. The stalactites hang off the ceiling and the stalagmites grow up from the ground. Jewel Cave is the biggest cave in western Australia. It was amazing and it was filled with all types of cool crystals.

The second cave we visited is called Lake Cave, a small cave with a table in it. The table consists of two stalactites that hang from the ceiling. When they grew all the way to the ground, they joined together. But a long time ago, the ground under them washed away and left it hovering over the water, so it looks really cool.

Now we're off to South Africa and we're really excited because we have friends meeting us there. See you next time!
