Hi, I'm in Tokyo ... YEAHHHH! When we arrived here on a bullet train (they are really fast!), we were greeted by a man named Yoshi-san. He helped plan our trip to Japan and he has two children who came to meet us too. Their names are Shuntaro, a.k.a. Shun, and Lisa. Shuntaro was funny and Lisa laughed a lot. It was great to be with other kids and we had a lot of fun with them.We all went to a place called Kidzania where you can get your own wallet and credit card. You can choose from a lot of different jobs to do to earn more money. Then, you can spend it on things like making your own pizza and getting your drivers license (I passed my driving test even though it was in Japanese!). I even rented a real cell phone to use while I was there and I used it to call Lisa and her mom. Kidzania was so fun. Speaking of fun, take a look below. We played on a GIANT foosball table while we were in Japan. The pieces are almost as big as me!
One day in Tokyo, we went to a shrine. There was a ceremony going on for the new champion sumo wrestler. Two groups of three wrestlers came out and were all in their official sumo outfits. It was so cool to see them because they are big celebrities in Japan. We were super-duper lucky to see them in person because most Japanese people only get to see them on television.
igami
cranes. She also made us origami samurai hats and swords out of
newspaper and we made her some things out of origami too. Even though
she didn't speak any English, we still made friends with her ... just
like we did with Shun and Lisa. While we were in Ishikawa, we went to an aquarium and saw lots of cool fish. My favorite was the puffer fish. If they get mad or scared, they blow up really big. We just saw one puff up a little bit, but it was still cool. We went to a dolphin show and they asked for volunteers, so I raised my hand up really high and got picked. For the act, I had to wave two fans which is a sign for the dolphins to sing. Then they told me to spin around in circles with the fans. Once I started going faster and faster, the dolphins started spinning just like me. At the end, I got to shake hands with the biggest dolphin. Dolphin flippers aren't slimy, they're hard. That was really cool to touch a dolphin.
The next day before lunch, we went to a big fish market in the city of Kanazawa, where a local chef and his son showed us around. At the market, we saw big, brown, live shrimp. When the man showing them to us tried to pick one up, all the shrimp started jumping out of the bucket like crazy. A little bit later we went to his restaurant and we got to see him make the food. It was great. I loved the food in Japan and tried everything. My favorite food was the Japanese noodles, and of course, sushi!
We had a great time in Japan and next we're going to Bhutan. Bye for now!

U guys must have sweeeet life! I've never been out of the United states(except for Puerto Rico)!
Dear Stefan and Tyler,
That is SO cool that you got to battle a real samurai! We are going to Japan on Tuesday - I can't wait. What was your favorite thing to do there? We will be in Tokyo and Kyoto. I am not sure I want to wear a kimono - did it feel like a dress?
We just got back from Churchill, Canada where we saw 26 polar bears in the wild, plus an Arctic fox, an Arctic hare, and a ptarmigan. It was awesome!
Hope you are having a great trip!
Zola
