Fishing for Fun in Lake Michigan

Hello, I was just in Harbor Springs, Michigan and now I'm in Chicago. Even though we're in a different state, I'm still looking at Lake Michigan, which is one of the five Great Lakes.

I had lots of fun in Michigan. I was asleep when we got there and when I woke up, we were at the house, which made me very happy. The first thing I did was scope the place out. I found the basement and called Tyler. When we were down there, Tyler came up with the idea of putting on a circus. We practiced for hours. We performed our circus the second day we were there. There were three characters in it: 1) "The Genie Man," aka Tyler; 2) "Stefan," played by myself; and 3) "Monkey," also played by me. My trick was making water disappear. I was nervous that I was going to mess up, but I did not.  The show was great!
We rented a boat for the day and it was fun. We went fishing on it but did not catch anything. I did see some wildlife though (I'm keeping a list of all the wildlife we see on the trip). We saw a sea snake. It was gray, brown, black, and orange and about two feet long! We found a sand bar, anchored the boat and went swimming in the water (good thing we didn't see any snakes while we were swimming!).

We went to Charlevoix and I met this fisherman named Steve. He was a good fisherman and he caught lots of fish. He almost caught a really big one, but it escaped. He let me try fishing and I almost caught one too, but it was fighting really hard. I wasn't fighting hard enough and he got away. Here are some fishing tips from Steve:

  • You know how you cast and then reel it back in to make it look like the worm is moving? Well, there is no need to do that! Let the current do the moving. When you feel a tug, you just reel it in slowly so you don't scare the fish.
  • When the fish is really tugging, roll it in. Give the line a big tug to make sure the fish is on the hook. You just caught yourself a fish!

While we were fishing with Steve, we saw a jet-skiing dog! Check out the picture:
